Key Findings

Generative AI is Delivering Measurable
Productivity Gains

Professionals aren’t just dipping their toes into Generative AI now. They are diving in headfirst and reaping significant benefits such as tangible improvements in productivity and efficiency. This marks a departure from last year’s more exploratory use, highlighting a growing reliance on AI to streamline routine tasks.

By freeing employees from routine tasks, genAI enables them to focus on strategic and creative work, maximizing overall output.

What this tells us

GenAI isn’t just helping professionals work more efficiently; it’s enabling them to produce better work and make more informed decisions.

  • Productivity Gains Justify Investment: Considerable time savings and productivity improvements point to a strong return on investment, making a compelling case for organizations to adopt genAI technologies.
  • GenAI is Becoming Essential: The move from occasional use to more frequent use suggests that genAI is becoming an indispensable tool in the professional toolkit.
  • Trust Drives Adoption: Increased confidence in the quality and reliability of AI outputs is a key factor in its growing use, indicating that as genAI proves itself, professionals are more willing to integrate it into critical tasks.
  • The Future Looks Promising: The overwhelmingly positive impact reported suggests that genAI will continue to gain traction. As organizations overcome adoption barriers, we can expect even broader integration and more innovative applications of AI.

Increasing Need to Address Trust and Ethical Considerations to Realize Full GenAI Value

The results indicate that while adoption of AI is steadily increasing, there remains significant opportunity for organizations to scale up and harness its full potential.

Notably, 10% of surveyed organizations have yet to adopt genAI, and others report only minimal integration. Feedback from some respondents point to barriers such as a lack of trust, insufficient training, or resistance to change, which must be addressed to unlock broader adoption.

What this tells us

  • Ethics and Proficiency Go Hand-in-Hand: Addressing ethical considerations isn’t just a compliance issue; it’s essential for sustainable AI integration. Well-trained professionals can navigate ethical challenges effectively.
  • Data Literacy Underpins Success: As genAI relies on data, professionals must be adept at handling and interpreting this data to ensure accurate and valuable outputs.
  • Strategic Thinking Amplifies Impact: Beyond technical skills, the ability to strategically integrate genAI into business processes magnifies its benefits, transforming organizational performance.
  • Ongoing Learning is Essential: The rapid evolution of genAI technologies means continuous upskilling is necessary to keep pace with new tools and methodologies.

Optimism and Readiness Persists Among C-Suite Leaders

With 91% of respondents agreeing that technology is crucial to their organization’s success, the importance of tech remains significant. This year, 82% reported being open to adopting new technologies, a slight decrease from 87% last year. C-Suite leaders continue to demonstrate strong readiness, with more than half being "extremely" open to new technologies, and 84% being open overall, the highest level among all career stages, underscoring their ongoing commitment to innovation.

What’s particularly notable is that while there is a decline with age, even the 60+ age group maintains a relatively high level of openness at 65.6%, revealing that respondents across all age groups are open to new technology adoption.

What this tells us

  • C-Suite is Ready for GenAI Utilization: C-suite leaders are responsible for companywide strategy and competitive positioning and feel pressure from board members and stakeholders to stay ahead of technological changes to maintain market position.
  • Generational and Career Synergy Enhances AI Integration: The intersection of Millennials’ digital upbringing and Gen X’s adaptability creates a robust foundation for widespread genAI adoption, while the potential growth from Gen Z and opportunities to engage Baby Boomers can further accelerate AI integration across all organizational levels.

Where do organizations go from here?

As genAI becomes an integral part of the professional landscape, organizations recognize that technology alone isn’t enough—their people need to keep pace. Training employees to harness genAI’s full potential is not just beneficial; it’s essential. By focusing on key areas like data literacy, AI fluency, hands-on tool proficiency, strategic integration, and ethical considerations, companies can empower their workforce to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
